“Frograin fell on the cousins' back porch tea party. The pink porcelain kettle rattled with the weight of a fallen bullfrog, and tiny tree frogs splashed into the cups, freckling the tablecloth with drops of green tea. They came down singing and didn't stop, all colors and all sizes, some big and spotted like leopards and others tiny, translucent, as fragile as glass. Sunlight made rainbows in the webbing between their toes.”

One of my favorite projects I’ve been included in, and the editor Joseph is a prince among editors. He gets it. Works inspired by Bosch’s painting The Garden of Earthly Delights. My story is a Zen fairytale that takes place in the world after that featured in the Many Seasons cycle. Reality goes on, but sometimes the world takes a different shape.
